Oggi vi parlerò di un marchio di cui si parla, si é parlato e si parlerà sempre molto... Dunhill.
Ci sono diverse opinioni su queste pipe. Ovviamente non sono pipe artigianali e qui c'è qualcuno ( me compreso ) che storce un po' il naso.
Dunhill dal 1912 é sempre stato un simbolo importante nel mondo pipa ( ricordiamo che il marchio produce anche sigari, sigarette, accessori vari per il fumo, profumi, abbigliamento, accessori e altro ).
Brand conosciuto in tutto il mondo e, ad onor del vero, non a buon mercato.
Parlando delle pipe possiamo trovare una grandissima scelta di finissaggi e colorazioni, passando dalla sabbiata nera ( entry level ) alla liscia chiara fiammatissima.
Vengono utilizzati inserti preziosi come argento e oro finemente lavorati, inserti in bamboo e in metacrilato. I bocchini sono di ottima fattura e veramente comodi grazie anche all'utilizzo dell'ebanite e del cumberlan che, come touch and feel in bocca, sono i materiali migliori.
In Dunhill non si cerca l'anima dell'artigiano, non si cerca il rapporto con il produttore e sopratutto non si cerca la pipa economica.
In Dunhill troviamo precisione di costruzione, simmetria, classicità estrema e sicurezza. Perché dico sicurezza? Secondo me comprando una Dunhill si avrà la sicurezza di una buona pipa, adatta a fumare in modo instancabile e senza mai avere problemi.
L'acquisto di una pipa di questo genere é anche un investimento. Se é stata acquistata usata si possono riprendere i soldi spesi nel caso volessimo vederla.
Dunhill si distingue anche per le edizioni limitate che, una volta vendute tutte, acquistano tantissimo valore.
Una di queste serie limitate ( allego la foto del mio esemplare ) é l'edizione del centenario ovviamente in cento pezzi al mondo.
Due pipe: una in finitura Bruyere e l'altra in finitura Black Briar del gruppo due ( quindi medio piccole ) con vera in argento incisa. Il cofanetto comprende anche un porta pipe da due ( come quello in vendita nel 1920 ) con 20 scovolini e un certificato con firma in originale.
Materiali e radiche ovviamente bellissime!
La domanda che affligge molti appassionati é: queste pipe valgono davvero quello che costano?

Are used precious inserts as gold and silver finely crafted, bamboo inserts and methacrylate. The mouthpieces are excellent and very comfortable thanks to the use of ebonite and Cumberlan that, like touch and feel in the mouth, are the best materials.
In Dunhill do not search the soul of the artisan, no attempt the relationship with the manufacturer and don't look for the economic pipe.
In Dunhill we'll find construction precision, symmetry, classical and extreme security. Why do I say security? I think buying a Dunhill you will have the security of a good pipe, suitable for smoking in a tireless and never have any problems.
The purchase of a pipe of this kind is also an investment. If you've bought used, you can take the money spent if you want to sell it.
Dunhill is also distinguished by the limited editions that once sold them all, they buy so much value.
One of these limited series (attaching the photo of my copy) is the centenary edition obviously produced into a hundred pieces in the world.
Two pipe: one finished in Bruyere and the other in Black Briar finish. Each one of group two (so medium and small) with silver insert crafted. The set also includes a pipe pouch (like the one on sale in 1920) with 20 cleaners and a certificate with an original signature.
Materials and burls of course beautiful!
The question that plagues many fans is: these pipes are really worth what they cost?
